DIY VALENTINE’S DAY GIFTS

As Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, many of us sit here and wonder what can we give our significant other that hasn’t already been done. If there is any holiday where we can use our creative sides, it’s definitely Valentine’s Day. This is your chance to show your special someone how much they mean to you, and what better way to do it than by making a personal gift for them. DIY has made it so easy for us to be cutesy in everything we do. Here are my three favorite ideas:

1.     Use a mason jar and decorate the top however you think is cutest! I personally like that it says “Cheap Dates” because it’s funny and straight to the point. Inside the jar you’ll write little cards about fun and inexpensive dates the two of you could go on whenever you have date nights. Each card has a total value on it with cash paper clipped to the note. This is an adorable idea for the nights where you just don’t know what to do. Whether it’s to go out and get ice cream or rent bikes and stroll through the park, you can’t go wrong when you’re spending time together.

2.     If your significant other is a foodie, like moi, these cupcakes are so fun. I would personally have one cupcake made and wrapped up in a box with a card that says, “You are the sprinkles to my cupcake.” Then have another box with all the ingredients already measured out with a personalized note with each ingredient. This way, the two of you could enjoy making them together over a nice bottle of wine.

3.     This is probably one of the cutest and most creative DIY’s I’ve seen in a while. Tie a ribbon on your door or wherever you’ll see it every day. Add a sign that says, “Kiss me countdown.” On the ribbon, tie pink, red, and silver Hershey Kisses—one for each day leading up to Valentine’s Day. Each morning, take a kiss and it’s your own personal countdown for the big day. This is so sweet and does not take a lot of time or effort, and also a good reminder for those who easily forget.

Regardless of what you choose to do, you can do no wrong on Valentine’s Day, because no matter how big or small the gift is, your significant other will love you for it. Try some of these DIY projects or come up with your own. Or if you’re anything like me, single and lovin’ it, make yourself a cupcake to accompany your Netflix marathons.

Happy Valentine’s Day! T-minus 15 days!
