Stars and Stripes: Outfit Guide 2014

Sweet summer time is here and one of my favorite holidays is right around the corner! July 4th is not only an important and meaningful holiday, but it also symbolizes family to me. Some of my fondest childhood memories were of the 4th of july “parties” my mom would throw just for us. She would prepare all kinds of fun finger foods, hang decorations, buy more fireworks than were probably necessary for us as little ones (not complaining haha), and of course she would BBQ out on the back patio as the cicadas sang and we danced around with our sparklers trying to enact firework battles with each other. I remember looking up at the darkening sky to watch the beautiful stars start to appear before my very eyes. Those are the nights I think back on when I remember my summers as a  child.  Now as an adult other things occupy my thoughts when it comes to the 4th of july, like “what am I going to wear to that pool party” or “is this too patriotic, is there even such a thing?” Yes the old, “I have nothing to wear” scenario becomes pretty common around this time of year as social events start piling up in my calendar. I love to dress for the occasion but I always find myself scrambling for ideas, to avoid that this year and to maybe help you avoid the pre-bbq-pool-party-confusion we’ve made a quick Palm Tree outfit guide for you. So you can look the part but keep the stress at a minimal! Enjoy!
